Deworming & Parasite Prevention
Internal and external parasites can affect the health, growth, and quality of life of pets, and some can even be transmitted to humans. At Farvardin Pet Clinic, a deworming and parasite prevention program is determined and implemented based on the species, age, weight, health status, lifestyle, and the animal’s level of exposure to the environment and other animals.
Full Description
Parasites can be divided into two main groups: internal and external. Internal parasites can affect the digestive system and, in some cases, other organs of the body, while external parasites such as fleas and ticks live on the animal’s skin and body.
Parasitic infestation may be accompanied by symptoms such as itching, hair loss, weight loss, diarrhea, vomiting, weakness, changes in skin and coat condition, or the observation of parasites on the body or in the stool. However, some parasitic infestations may have no obvious symptoms. The choice of antiparasitic medication, dosage, and interval between doses must be based on species, weight, age, health status, and parasite type, and should be determined by a veterinarian.
